Dave Hamelin (born October 3, 1980) is a vocalist and guitarist for Canadian rock band The Stills. The principal songwriter and lyricist for the band made the move up from behind the kit after guitarist Greg Paquet left the band in 2005. On March 28, 2009, The Stills were awarded 2 Juno Awards (Canada's music awards), in the categories for Best New Group of The Year, and Best Alternative Album of the Year for their album ''Oceans Will Rise''. The Stills broke up in 2010. In 2009, Hamelin alongside The Stills' keyboardist Liam O'Neil and Broken Social Scene drummer Justin Peroff, formed the band Eight and a Half and released their self-titled debut in 2012. In 2013 Dave Hamelin co-produced, and mixed Broken Social Scene frontman, Kevin Drew's second solo record, ''Darlings''.
